Anonymous said: Im thinking of picking up a set of slide wheels, any recommendations?

For learning mayber an offset wheel with a wider contact patch like an otang stim or durian, or what ever you have for beginning you could learn on. If you’re looking for a buttery slide, and don’t care about durability then go for a lower duro flashback, or maybe a freeride. They wear down pretty fast, leave thick-A lines, and are very consistent. Remember with classic thane, you pay for the slide, not the durability. Some wheels that are similar are cult classics, they’re a sideset wheel and only come 80a. They leave nice lines, and are a bit icier. Divine street slayers I think are centerset, but have a very similar slide; a bit more chalky from what I hear. For durable slide wheels I’d look into Sector 9’s centerset raceforms. The mold they’re in makes them feels a bit harder than the duro says. Like my 80a cs raceform feels harder than my 80a stim, and burner. Super durable, but a bit icy in my opinion. Coring these wheels are an achievement; there’s just so much durable thane to burn through. Also, the new otang balut is nice. Otang was able to make a wheel durable, but keep it still sliding buttery. I heard Ethan Cochard mention how hard these are to core, and if you’ve seen how he rides then you’ll understand that these can take abuse. For faster freeriding, I’ve seen people use more of a sharp lipped wheel such as sector 9 dual duros, classic thane bigs and zigs, broken in cult death rays, and otang for prez.
